The Center for Black Women’s Wellness (“CBWW”) organization is a community-based nonprofit that is committed to enhancing the health and well-being of African-American women and their families. The organization provides several comprehensive programs that are designed to educate, empower and inspire participants to make positive changes in their lives and the lives of their families.
POSITION OVERVIEW
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer with a dotted reporting line to the contract Chief Financial Officer (“CFO”), the Accountant is responsible for supporting the accounting operations of the CBWW. Looking for a motivated self-starter who can actively manage the day-to-day accounting responsibilities of the organization and effectively interface with CBWW leadership and staff. The CBWW fiscal team is comprised of two people: the contract Chief Financial Officer and this key role, with contract support for grant administration.
SALARY RANGE: $50,000-60,000 based on experience
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Record and manage all accounting records in NetSuite to ensure accurate financial records for monthly reporting
- Perform accounting processes including journal entries, allocations, account reconciliations and general ledger transactions
- Process payroll and 401k for all CBWW employees,
- Process all vendor invoices and ensure timely payments
- Invoice all funding sources and ensure timely collections
- Reconcile all bank accounts on a monthly basis
- Prepare monthly financial reports including the calculation of variances, and other ad hoc analysis as requested
- Support annual budget process and financial forecasting
- Provide requested information for annual audit and 990s
- Participate in monthly AR, revenue and net asset meetings, and weekly staff meetings
- Partner with contract CFO to enhance existing processes and procedures
- Develop effective relationships with Program and Executive Staff to ensure timely management of all activities
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, or related field of study
- Five to ten years of accounting experience; non-profit accounting and federal grant experience strongly preferred
- Extensive experience with NetSuite
- Proficient in MS Office including advanced skills in Excel
- Excellent organizational skills with high attention to detail and facility with numbers
- Strong work ethic, responsive and able to deliver quick turnaround with high degree of accuracy
- Professional and polished communication skills, able to interact with all levels of the organization
