The Center for Black Women’s Wellness (CBWW) is a community-based nonprofit organization committed to enhancing the health and well-being of Black women and their families. The organization provides several comprehensive programs designed to educate, empower and inspire participants to make positive changes in their lives and the lives of their families. Its core services are aimed at eliminating health inequities across a range of health areas and include low-cost and no-cost healthcare (women’s health, primary care and mental health); health education to improve health outcomes and healthy behaviors; prenatal home visiting for pregnant women and their infants to improve maternal and infant health; and financial literacy and micro-business training to improve women’s economic wellbeing.
POSITION OVERVIEW
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer with a dotted reporting line to the contract Chief Financial Officer (“CFO”), the Accounting and Grant Specialist is responsible for supporting the fiscal operations of the CBWW.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
· Record and manage all accounting records in NetSuite to ensure accurate financial records for monthly reporting
· Perform accounting processes including journal entries, allocations, account reconciliations and general ledger transactions
· Process payroll and 401k for all CBWW employees,
· Process all vendor invoices and ensure timely payments
· Invoice all funding sources and ensure timely collections
· Prepare and process federal reimbursements
· Reconcile all bank accounts monthly
· Prepare monthly financial and budget reports including the calculation of variances, and other ad hoc analysis as requested
· Support annual budget process and financial forecasting
· Formulate budgets for grant proposals and financial reports for funders
· Provide requested information for annual audit and 990s
· Participate in monthly AR, revenue and net asset meetings, and weekly staff meetings
· Partner with contract CFO to enhance existing processes and procedures
· Develop effective relationships with Program and Executive Staff to ensure timely management of all activities
QUALIFICATIONS
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or related field of study
· Five to ten years of accounting experience; non-profit accounting and federal grant experience strongly preferred
· Extensive experience with NetSuite
· Proficient in MS Office including advanced skills in Excel
· Excellent organizational skills with high attention to detail and facility with numbers
· Strong work ethic, responsive and able to deliver quick turnaround with high degree of accuracy
· Professional and polished communication skills, able to interact with all levels of the organization
