JOB DESCRIPTION: Program Coordinator PROGRAM: Maternal Child Health
The Center for Black Women’s Wellness is a community-based nonprofit organization that is committed to enhancing the health and well-being of Black women and their families. The organization provides several comprehensive programs that are designed to educate, empower and inspire participants to make positive changes in their lives and the lives of their families. CBWW is located within a City of Atlanta recreation center.
POSITION OVERVIEW
Under the Maternal Child Health Program, CBWW is engaged in special initiatives and partnerships aimed at eliminating disparities in maternal mortality and morbidity in Atlanta. Stakeholder engagement and inclusion of women with lived experience (ensuring that women most impacted by the problem are part of the solution) are central approaches to the work.
ESSENTIAL POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with building MCH data-related infrastructure, pathway establishment, and data collection efforts.
- Work closely with academic partners on research related activities, such as qualitative focus groups and key informant interviews, to assess barriers to equitable and respectful maternal care.
- Create an operational work plan to execute grant activities (e.g., identify key stakeholders, event coordination planning, secure meeting locations, and launch evaluation plan)
- Assist with data coding and synthesis, and the reporting of study-related findings.
- Assist in creating and delivering user friendly reports, slide decks and presentations to share research and quality improvement findings with stakeholders and the community.
- Represent the organization at various maternal and child health related meetings and conferences.
- Assist in drafting research dissemination materials.
- Assist with assessment of program objectives and determine best approaches for achieving program objectives in accordance with client/community needs, funder requirements, and agency resources.
- Provide innovative health promotion strategies to target diverse populations
- Identify and build up community-based health education initiatives coordinated across agency departments (Wellness, Clinical Services & Operations) with a social determinants of health focus.
- Implement best/evidence-based practices, innovation and data tracking and reporting.
- Enhance collaboration with other organizations to ensure continuous access to timely data and development of pilot site data capacity and infrastructure.
- Respond to RFP opportunities.
- Performs other duties as assigned and necessary for successful program administration and delivery.
EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s Degree in public health or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of two (2) years work experience in public health
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with exceptional attention to details.
- Collaborative communicator with a strong team spirit.
- Data literacy skillset.
- Proven capabilities in project management, research, documenting and presenting findings.
- Ability to work remotely in hybrid model with discipline and minimum supervision.
- Passion for maternal and child health, Black women’s health, and health equity.
- Experience with community based participatory research is a plus.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially EXCEL.
