The Center for Black Women’s Wellness (CBWW) is a community-based nonprofit organization that is called to improve the health and well-being of women, families and communities.  The organization provides several programs centered around the unique needs of Black women designed to educate, empower and inspire participants to make positive changes in their lives and the lives of their families. CBWW focuses on accessible healthcare, improving maternal and child health, and enhancing women’s economic wellbeing.

CLINICAL OVERVIEW

The Wellness Clinic provides low-cost women’s healthcare through paid mid-level providers; no cost primary healthcare and chronic disease management to low income, uninsured women and men one afternoon per week through volunteer healthcare professionals; and behavioral health through contractors and volunteers to assure integrated care. Community based screening services, such as mobile mammography, are conducted routinely through staff and through area partnerships, and group health education is offered to patients as well as the community on a host of topics, such as diabetes prevention, breast health, and environmental health.
